Your first priority is to be found resting in your Father. Don't fall into the trap that the more you "do", the better. "Ministry" and service should not be detrimental or damaging in any capacity, when done as God intended. I will give you refreshing in order to collect your strength.Ī life resting in the LORD is a good life. ”Ĭome to me all who have become exhausted, weary and loaded down with burdens. “Come to Me, all you who labor (kopiao: toil, grow weary, tired, exhausted – as with toil or burdens or grief) and are heavy-laden (phortizo: burdened upon, loaded down), and I will give you rest (anapauo: refresh, to cause or permit one to cease from any movement or labor in order to recover and collect his strength to keep quiet, of calm and patient expectation). “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” (KJV) So today, look up to the One who holds your every step in the palm of His mighty hand. Keeping your gaze fixed on the things of the LORD will often eliminate alot of trials and distractions. That is what makes this verse so applicable. Family obligations, work, finances, health issues - the list could go on and on. The trouble is, there's always plenty of things fighting for our attention. Let your mental and spiritual eyes stay fixed straight ahead - focused on the direct way in front of you. “Let your eyes (`ayin: sight, mental qualities, mental and spiritual faculties, spring, fountain) look (nabat: behold, consider, regard, see, respect, pay attention to) directly ahead and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of (yashar: direct, right, well, fitted, upright, level, upright, just, lawful, smooth, straightforward) you.” “Let your eyes look directly ahead and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you.” (NASB) Today, will you live the Word? Will you keep the laws of the LORD?
But this morning I reiterate to you what the LORD spoke to Ezekiel, "Turn away from your idols and abominations, people of God!" It is time for those who profess with their mouths to know the LORD to begin to live accordingly. It doesn't take anything more than reading a few minutes of news to see that abominations and idols abound in this age. Tell My people that I say to them, "Turn away from all that you put before Me and turn your gaze away from all of your wicked and disgusting practices." “Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, Repent (shuwb: turn, turn back, turn away, restore, render, recompense to show a turning away) and turn away ("shuwb" again) from your idols and turn your faces (paniym: before, presence, sight, countenance) away from all your abominations (tow`ebah: abominable things, disgusting things, abomination, unclean, mixed, wickedness).
“Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, Repent and turn away from your idols and turn your faces away from all your abominations.'” (NASB) Cry out to Him today, we are all in great need of a healthy dose of Godly truth. When one realizes that he can't hide anything from God anyway and deceit has no leg to stand on before Him, he sees that he can draw close to God. Today, walk in His truth - get to know it. What is truth? When you look at its biblical definition one must undoubtedly arrive at the conclusion that it is God who is the possesser and giver of perfect truth. You'll have a close, personal relationship with the Lord when you faithfully and assuredly cry out to Him for help. “The LORD is near (qarowb: nigh, at hand, neighbor, next, kin personal relationship) to all who call (qara': utter a loud sound, to call unto, cry for help, to summon, invite) upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth ('emeth: right, faithfully, assuredly, faithful, firmness, faithfulness, truth, sureness, reliability, stability, continuance, reliableness).
“The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.” (NASB)
